a brave clown heart
People are sometimes surprised to see Clowning listed among my training, right next to Reiki and Astrology. It belongs there.
Clowning isn't only about the red nose or the big shoes; it's the practice of taking the mask off. And here's the tender truth: we build those masks out of love. The ego designs them intentionally, to keep us safe, to protect the softest parts of us. But underneath every mask is something more honest, more pure, more aligned — a truer, freer way of moving through the world.
Clowning taught me to find the inner child and let them not only be seen, but lead; to meet the world with vulnerability, because that's the only place real connection lives. It taught me that absurdity is one of the universe's native languages, that not taking life so seriously is its own devotion, and that being willing to be new at something, publicly, imperfectly, and willing to fail, is one of the bravest things a person can do. Our culture fears failure, but being willing to fail is the only way to ever know what you might succeed at. As Joseph Campbell said, "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek."
That's what I mean by a brave clown heart. I won't be wearing the nose or the shoes (unless it helps you open up, in which case there will be an upcharge 😉), but I bring that heart to every session, and I'd love to help you find yours.
