aftercare
tending the garden we watered
The session doesn't end when you leave the table. The energy may keep moving for hours, sometimes days, continuing to process, integrate, and settle. Here's how to be gentle with yourself while it does.
Whatever arises is on purpose
All kinds of feelings and sensations can move through you during and after a session, and that's exactly as it should be. Energy medicine is gentle work; it simply brings to the surface whatever is ready to be witnessed and cared for. Sometimes that looks like tenderness, an old memory asking to be seen, the desire for deep rest. Just as often it looks like ease, lightness, floating on a cloud. None of it is wrong; your body is simply finishing the conversation. Here are a few gentle ways to support the integration.
Ways to care for yourself
- Water. Make sure to stay hydrated.
- An Epsom salt bath. Warm water and salt help the body soften and release what it's done carrying.
- Journaling. If something surfaces, an image, a feeling, a memory, write it down without needing to solve it. Witnessing it on paper is often enough.
- Rest without guilt. If you're tired, that's the integration asking for room. Give it an early night.
- Gentle movement. A slow walk, easy stretching, helping things flow, not pushing them.
- Warmth and simplicity. Nourishing food, soft clothes, less screen, more sky.
And if you feel wonderful — enjoy it thoroughly. Ease is not suspicious. Lightness is not a fluke. Sometimes the most radical aftercare is letting yourself feel good without asking why.
If anything feels tender in the days after, you're always welcome to reach out. As always, this work is a loving companion to your medical and mental-health care.
